Question about Mod Podge

I was recently thinking about a project that I think would be neat but I'm kind of at a loss when it comes to knowing if it'd be safe or not.  I was wanting to take candle holders and mod podge fabric or lace to the glass candle holders.  The only think keeping me from doing so is knowing whether or not it'd be safe and would last with the heat from a candle.  Anyone have any clues about this?  Anything that might work better than mod podge and is available at Walmart (only craft supplies I have that isn't over an hour away)?
