Bodice Boning Question
May. 1st, 2011 06:06 pmI've made dresses before but this is my first time using boning in a bodice.
I am making this dress: http://images.patternreview.com/sewing/patterns/newlook/6773/6773.jpg (the one on the left) and there are six pieces of boning around the bodice. The boning that I purchased (plastic) was curled up in it's package for so long that all my pieces curl. I assume that once the skirt is sewn on, that it will help to uncurl everything. But in the mean time, which way should the curl face? It makes sense to me to have them curve into my body. However two pieces go over the bust and it makes more sense for those to curl away from my body to fit my bust. Which way should they all face?
Thank you for your help!
