Hi everyone!

As a long-time lurker, this is my first post!  Since I had a question, I thought first I would post a recently finished sweater for my three year-old.

It's a free pattern from Caron (www.caron.com) named Just Plain Fun.  And it was just plain fun to make and my daughter loves it!

So now for my question.  On a recent trip home to visit my grandmother, she gave me a crocheted baby dress that my great-grandmother had made 70 years ago.  My mother even had her photo taken in it when she was a baby.  It looks to be made of crochet cotton.  Originally it was white, but my grandmother had dyed it a lovely shade of yellow.  Even though it's just been hanging in a closet the last several years, it is still in excellent condition and is not stained that I can tell.  I need to replace the ribbon that is threaded through the bodice and also makes a small bow as the original ribbon didn't last nearly as well as the dress did!

Given the family history with the dress, I'd like to clean it, have my girls' photo taken in it as a gift to my mother, and then store it away for either my future children or my future grandchildren.  For cleaning, I was thinking either Woolite or OxyClean - but leaning towards Woolite - drying by rolling in a towel and drying flat.  But I'm kind of stumped on the storage end of things.  I did some quick online searching but didn't really come across any good advice that seemed to speak to my specific situation.  I thought perhaps reaching out to you folks would be a good way to find some ideas!

Thanks in advance!
