"Red shift occurs when astronomical bodies are moving rapidly away from their observer. Wavelengths of light from these bodies appear to shift toward the red end of the spectrum. The red shift phenomena allows us to conclude that our universe is expanding rapidly in all directions. Galaxies of blue-black iridescent, prehnite green, opalite moonstone, and cherry red glass crystals are distanced geometrically further from each other on antiqued copper chain."

My roommate thought these looked like pictures of binary stars, which started my "science jewelry!" craze.

The unexpectedly awesome thing about these (if anything could be more awesome than earrings resembling Pokeballs) is that they change color in different lighting... sometimes they are purple and sometimes they are aqua!

Spacewaffles, one of my favorite inventions.
