Another Kid's Halloween Costume
Oct. 20th, 2011 10:39 amMy family moved to Germany almost a year ago, and I am yet to find a local craft store. The nearest one I know of is a good hour and a half drive away. Because of this, I was forced to use what I have on hand to make costumes for my kids this year. The challenge has been fun. My son's spider costume is done. Well, the sewing part at least. I haven't seen a lot of paintings in this community, but it's the advice of the painters that I need now. I want to paint my son's face to complete the costume. We looked up close-up photos of siders and decided to give him some extra eyeballs. Thing is, I have ZERO talent in painting. I don't want his extra eyes to just be some random orange circles painted on a black face, but I wouldn't know how to detail them to actually look like eyes. Any suggestions?
By the way, this is how excited he is about it...
"Show me a scary spider face!"
"Rawr!"

The legs -which have wire inside for bendability- are attached to his sleeves with fishing line so when he moves his arms, the legs move with them.
