I am obsessing over glitter these days, and now that News Years Eve has come and gone, I've had to come up with a creative way to keep the sparkle alive and kickin. While out shopping today, I found a pair of plain black sneakers that seemed a little too boring for my wardrobe, but before walking away from the buy I had quite the epiphany. I skipped on over to a craft store and bought some tacky glue and glitter, then headed home to start the project.

What you need:
- Ked-like sneakers
- Masking tape
- Craft Glue
- Loose glitter

Before:

Plain jane. About to be transformed.

First step, I lint rolled the shoes, but maybe that's just me being OCD.
Next, put masking tape around the area you will be adding the glitter to.

Then, put the craft glue all over the desired area on one shoe only (if you do both ahead, the glue will dry before you get to the second shoe). At first I started spreading the glue with a sponge applicator, but then I just dove in with my fingertips. Applying it with my fingers was easier for me, but however you get it on there should work just fine.

After you have a good amount of glue on one shoe, pour the glitter onto the area. I sprinkled a little at a time and evened it out with my fingers.

Repeat on the shoe.

Let them dry for a few minutes, then slowly remove the masking tape.

Let them dry overnight.

After:

Final step, love them.
