Modifying Shoes
May. 29th, 2003 08:22 pmSorry if this has been asked before but I've looked as far back as I can on this community so I'll ask anyway!
I have big feet (UK 10) but adore platforms - not the commuter type but the type with a seperate heel, preferably a big chunky heel. Is there anyone who can help me with finding and using the right materials for modifying shoes? I've got a pair of flat bottomed ankle boots and built the soles up using layers of thick cork but I now need something to make the soles out of 'cos if I try to walk on the cork it will fall to bits in minutes :(
Also, I guess this is more difficult but what about the uppers of boots? I was thinking of buying these from eBay and cutting the straps off and making an ankle boot but wouldn't know where to start!

Any ideas of how to do this sort of stuff or if there is a community that would know?
