hey guys, im new. so im thinking of this project of makeing my own bag. im sure you guys have done it a million times, but this is my first diy.. and was wondering what fabrics would you guys recommend? i was thinking of a messenger-type bag, and im getting some iron on patches, i want it to look very eclectic, loud and urban-esque, since i live in manhattan.

so, any ideas? im open to anything.
