Clear vase gems
Dec. 27th, 2001 07:20 pmI really liked the ideas posted below about the Clear Vase Gems. I decided to buy a bag today and start playing around with them.
I would like to sandwitch them togather with images on both sides and then use wire wrapped around the middle to make necklaces.
The problem I am running into is this:
The gems seem to not all be the same shape and size. They are close, but nowhere near exact. Some of them are also heavily bubbled, so the designs don't show through well.
Is there a certian brand of these gems that seem to have little bubbling and are about the same size or do you guys just pick through what is in the bag until you find good ones?
So far I have taken some really cute stickers with hippy-ish designs on them, stuck them sticky side togather, cut out a circle, and glued them between the glass. They turned out really cute but I had to dig through the marbles forever before I found two that were close enough to the same shape/size just to make one.
