bask in my creativity
Jul. 24th, 2003 12:59 am1. fish hat. inspired by nintendo and genkigang, i wanted a dead fish on my head.

FISH HAT.
2. cat hat. after sewing with fleece for the fish hat, i fell in love, and had to do something else. my croched kitten hat is getting old, so i made a new one. i like the way it turned out, although it's a little tight, and i accidentally sewed the cuff backwards, so i can't fold it up the right way. (hard to explain but yeah.)

for the person who asked the other day about how to make these: 1. measure around your head wear you'd put a hat (ie: forehead to back of skull) add about 2 inches. divide that number by 4. now you want to make 4 curved triangles with that number as your base. they should be slightly curved, not an arch. sew 2 of these together with 1/4 inch seam allowance. sew the other 2 together. if you're going to put ears in, pin them in and then sew 'em in. then, make a cuff and sew it on the bottom. that's about it.
3. my skirt. wonderfully awesome skirt, i was so happy it turned out. posted about it yesterday, but here's the image
4. cowboy purse. did this this morning after finishing some other projects.

here's the outside. cute fabric, eh? i love the brown.

here's the inside. i lined it with some homespun brown & offwhite and the wanted poster is a pocket. (total thrift store score, that fabric.)

the strap and little coin purse (that i need to get some leather or something to thread through) are studded with little star shaped studs. hott.
so yeah, i've been makin' stuff! hurrah!
