Paper towel rod....yay for Copper! *drool*
Aug. 6th, 2003 10:51 amOkay, I made this a while back...but I never got around to posting it...so here goes! :)
I made a paper towel rod for our new house, using copper plumbing pipe from Home Depot. Total cost of the project was under $10....because my boyfriend has a hacksaw that we used to cut the pipe to the correct length!

(same as above, but with towels on it!)

(a close up of the mounting, it swivels back and forth just slightly....and unscrews for polishing!)

As for directions...it's pretty much make-it-up as you go. I just found the correct pieces to slide together (using curved ones for the joints), and used an apoxy-metal-glue stuff to secure it (although most of it was tightly together without the glue). The mounting was the hardest part...had to get rather creative there, as you can see. :) All the copper is super cheap...like a quarter a piece in some cases.
Thanks for looking!
