Aug. 16th, 2003 04:56 pmI made my third project with my sewing machine earlier today!
It's my first "proper" bag. It has a lining and the whole 9 yards.
Finished size is about 11x9.
The handle and the sides of the bag are one large piece. I had no pattern, and i've never made a bag that has the bottom and side panels separate. I had only made the "sew two squares together bag". I used plain black lined with black toile. Both $1.87 a yard at wal-mart, so total cost for the bag, was less than $4, and i have tons of fabric left over. I put heavy duty cardboard in the bottom so that it will hold up better. I would like it more if the sides weren't so floppy, but overall, i'm happy with the completed project, and it only took about an hour and a half to make.

I have to figure out some sort of closure, i'm thinking a few small snaps, and something to dress up the front, but i can't think of what.
