Aug. 16th, 2003 10:39 pmI recently convinced my dad to let me move into our humongous basement after he finishes it (carpet, heater, possibly new ceiling tiles). It's a huge place, the size of an apartment with some rooms on the side, and I need some ideas for filling up all the space.
I've looked around the memories section and found some great ideas, but I still have a lot to decide on. I'm going for a funky retro look, and focusing around music and movies. There's some cool pillar things down there, and I'm planning on putting record albums on all four sides of them. Also, I'm looking around the thrift store for a funky fake leather couch of a sort of rusty orange color (tacky is what I'm going for here). My mom also suggested putting my bed in this corner and putting wooden beads around it all.
That still leaves me, of course, with the rest of the room. I need any ideas you can throw at me. Ideas for the ceiling would be good, since it's tiled and isn't exactly the prettiest thing in the world. We've already ruled out hanging curtains between the gridding, because you would need way too many sheets to do that. Also, I now have an insane amount of wall space that I need to fill up without painting, because my dad is.. very stupid about that sort of thing.
So ideas and suggestions are most appreciated, and pictures will be rewarded with cookies. Thank you!
