So, I finally made some sockdogs!

The tan argyle one was a practice dog. He came out really well but he's very worn out in the mouth area. waa! His tail is weird though.

The pink stripped one was my next one. I made it for my daughter. (despite the fact that she has a million stuffed animals!) It's back legs were way too long so I had to redo them. I like the super skinny tail on her. My daughter named this one "Sniffy."

The navy blue one is a present for a friend who is letting me stay with her this weekend. She has a dog named Ebi who is some sort of little dog with a smooshed up nose (boston terrier maybe?) I tried to make the sock dog look as much like Ebi as possible. We'll see if I was successful this weekend!

I used the Martha Stewart directions but when I was putting the head on I coudln't figure it out. I sewed it into a face shape and put it on upside down (so the heel is where the mouth is not where the eyes/nose are). I think it looks pretty good. (I found another site once with better directions but I can no longer find it! I'm pretty sure the site was from a Scandinavian country.)

I didn't add paws, I left the legs straight which I think looks just fine. I did stitching for a mouth with embroidery thread.. I tried putting on eyebrows but it looked bad and I took it out.

I added collars to the dogs to hide the Dr. Frankenstein connection between the head and the body. I sewed a little jump ring on the collars to, so you can attach a leash of course!

I did as much sewing as I could with the machine which made this a very fast project. I did the hand sewing while watching videos with my daughter.
