Photo stencilling - who needs Photoshop!
Sep. 2nd, 2003 09:09 pmOkay, since all the cool kids were doing it, I decided last night it was time I got in on the stencilling game. I don't have any image manipulation software (though I wish I did) and my stencils turned out pretty well as far as I'm concerned.
So, I thought I'd post a lil diy for craftgrrls in a similar position who still want to try making their own stencils from photos.
1. Insert your image into a Word document.
2. Rezise and/or crop as desired using the Picture toolbar (it should automatically pop up when you select the image).
3. Change the image to black and white.
4. Fiddle with the contrast and brightness till you like how it looks.
5. Print.
6. Cut out the black bits (where you want the paint to go).
7. Congratulate yourself on making a kick-ass stencil!
How easy was that? You can use Paint to edit the image if you need or want to, to eliminate 'white islands' etc.
I'd post pics, but I don't have a scanner or digital camera either *pout*
