cat cell phone cover crochet pattern
Sep. 5th, 2003 01:47 pmi posted about my cat cell phone cozy a while ago which i ripped off from meomi.com and yesterday i attempted to write a pattern. key word: attempted. i'm sorry if it doesn't make sense but i'll try to explain it the best i can. this was my first time writing a pattern and also first time making up a pattern freehand. anyway here it is:
i used crochet hook g and red heart super saver yarn. i used the stitch half double crochet because i think it goes the fastest. you could probably substitute whatever stitch you want but you might have to do more rows that way.
row 1 ch 20 join with sl st to form ring. ch 1, do not turn. (put a marker here to show the beginning of the rows)
row 2 2hdc in each each across. sl st in first hdc, ch 1.
row 3-13 hdc in each hdc. do not turn. (hdc all the way around continually for 13 rows. at marker fasten off.
turn inside out and flatten out. sl st in each chacross the bottom. turn right side out.
for ears: lay the pouch flat and count out 5 stitches where you want the ears to go. hdc in each of the 5 stitches, chain 1 turn. hdc in 2nd stitch from hook, next stitch, and sct in last stitch, ch 1, turn. sc in next stitch, fasten off. (i hope this works, the ears come out differently every time i make them. :\ )
for the eyes: sew on 2 small buttons or glue on googly eyes.
for the nose/mouth: you need 2 small pieces of red yarn. count out 3 stitches and pull one end of a small piece of yarn through the front to the inside of the poutch in the 1st stitch, skip the middle stitch, pull the yarn through the to the back in the 3rd stitch. then take the 2nd piece of yarn and pull each side through the holes next to the middle stitch from the inside. pull them diagonally towards the bottom corners of the pouch and pull through one of the holes to the inside. do the same on both sides and tie them on the inside of the pouch.
i hope this isnt too hard to understand, but looking at the picture on meomi.com helped me when i made this up. feel free to leave a comment or im me if you get confused. my aim screen name is elfpowergirl
also if my pattern sucks, you can make a regular cell phone case from this pattern at michael's hahaha.
