Old Triumphs

Hello all, I've been lurking for a while and figured I should post something. I don't know if creative cakes count as crafty, but I like this one and wanted to share. I baked it for a cake decorating contest at a Studebaker meet. It is shaped like my boyfriend's truck.







The cake is a Black Velvet cake that I sculpted using layers and cream cheese frosting. The fenders and headlights are pieces of donuts, the grill and stakebed are made with Pocky, and the cargo is maraschino cherries. I used blue and green food coloring for the body and windows and red gel icing for details. I got 2nd Place in the contest!
