sewing question -

kay, i'm 18 inches away from finishing the pair of pants i was making, when the bobbin runs out of thread. i re-thread it, put it back in the bobbin holder and everything, rethread the machine, but now, no matter how hard i try, it wont raise the bobbin thread for sewing. >.<
does anyone know of anything i can do? i've finished the pants by hand, but that still doesn't help with my now useless sewing machine.
