from college drab, to college fab
Oct. 9th, 2002 02:21 amThis may not be so crafty, but I think it could fall into this category. I live in a college dorm, and the walls are plain. I've got a Coldplay poster, a Gap poster, and street adress sign with my name on it, and a movie poster as well. We can't hang Christmas lights or flags, since they are a "fire hazard". So.. I am asking, what crafty and fun ideas could I do to spruce up a college dorm room?

Oct. 9th, 2002 11:04 amA lot of people asked how I make my stuff, so I will x-post again and not reply to every single comment :) I won't post any of my patterns, because I hopefully will sell some of my designs in the future, but I will try to explain with words.
I won't go into too much details, but I hope you will get an idea!

messenger bags.
Oct. 9th, 2002 09:43 pmHello again crafty girls, before I just go and attack this task without any formal instructions, I’m wondering if anyone here has links to websites with good designs/instructions for making bags, specially messenger-like bags. Something that holds a lot of shit. I want to make something patch-work-esque, I just need to get my self together and do it.

heres a link to some things i have up on ebay. its not much and by no means perfect, , but i just got my first car, am taking a little trip to LA in a week or 2, and then looking at getting my own place, so the extra few dollars would really help me out right now... i have a framed clay heart and some magnets that i will be adding either later tonight or tomorrow sometime, so keep checking back.... but i figured i'd post a link since i have nothing to do right now. i'll include some free bracelets like this(all different kinds) with every item because i have billions of them. i make them while watching tv. welll...thanks! hope someone bids on something. dont be afraid to share the link. :p
stuff for sale.

Oct. 9th, 2002 11:58 pmI have this odd habit of drawing on EVERYTHING with Sharpies. I have a normal-thickness one and a "ultra fine" marker that I carry everywhere. I love to draw on plastic stuff... I decorate cell phones, CD players, etc, with fun designs. My latest "project" is my boring pink birth control compact. (It's great, I'm gonna scan it for you when I finish.)
Anyway, it's fun, it makes a great conversation piece, BUT...
the marker always starts to wear off, and then it looks ugly. Especially on cell phone faceplates. The plastic is really smooth and glossy. Is there any way to "seal" in the marker?
