My mom is putting some stuff in a flea market in 3 weeks.

Outside of pony bead bracelets, and hemp bracelets, I have no idea what I am going to put in there.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for cheap things I can make that sell good at flea markets?

I can sew a little bit, crochet slighty, and I am kickass at making bracelets. I can do just about anything if I am told how to do it.

I just need to make some extra $$$ for the upcoming months...I am going to need it.

Any suggestions would help...thanks..

i went to the beach yesterday and picked up a whole bunch of shells. i'm going to do my bathroom with a shell motif. i don't want to do nautical, because that's not really my style and i tend to get seasick, so i don't want to see boats everywhere. so it's going to be shells/ocean kinda.

does anyone have ideas of what to do with this motif? i have some basic ideas but everyone here has such unique thoughts, so any ideas would be great!

I have oodles and oodles of those little plastic bubbles you get when you buy toys out of quarter machines. Any ideas as to what I could do with them?

The rest of them are at www.pinkcurtains.com.

Hello craftgrrls!

This is one of those brainstorming questions. ^_^

Next year my friend is going to be the don (or R.A.) of my floor in the university residence where I live. Each don is supposed to decorate the floor according to a theme and she has picked "Outer Space". I was wondering if you had any neat ideas for how to decorate the floor in a 'space' type theme. We have a pretty large common room with an (ugly!) couch, chairs, windows, fridge, and sink area. There is also a lot of wall space in the hallway and those ugly fluorescent bar lights in the hall, too. Each door requires a name tag, as well (but it doesn't have to look like an actual tag, just something to put the girl's name on). We cannot paint on the walls or hammer nails into the walls, but other than that, we can do whatever we want. In addition to all this, we are supposed to put a little gift kit together for each girl and my friend wants some of the gift items to have to do with "Space". Oh my!

Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again for your time and good luck on all your pretty projects!

Sorry it has taken so long with the update on the corset making. I am still working on it. There has just been a bit of a delay due to life getting in the way.

We went ahead cut out the rest of the material for it. There are two layers of each, mesh cloth, batting, (very thin) and muslin.

We got the measurements for each boning length, but I have to get those again, because I gave them to my husband to cut out, and of course he lost them. :P

I am working on the busk now, and will post pictures of that as well, soon. I can't decide if I will do progressive pictures, or all at once. We shall see.

I am broke, so I made my friend some marble magnets with her and her husband's names and hearts etc. along with some address labels with her & her husband's new name and address on them for her wedding shower gift. They were a big hit and the gift only cost me about $2! Yay!

hello!
i think this is my first actual post, although i've been watching and commenting in this community for a while...
my question is, a while ago, someone posted pictures of a discman holder, it was sewn, padded, looked kinda like a little ourse from the outside, and i went thru the memories, but i couldnt find it, and i went back alot of entries, but to no luck... i was hoping maybe someone could tell me how to make this cd player holder, or where i can find directions, because i would really like to make one for my cousin (who never goes anywhere without her discman!) any help would be super!! thanks!!

I made a post in my livejournal about My apartment. There are some crafty things in there. Uses for Record covers, CDs turned wall art, a bamboo frame I made/ruined, reedcane fencing used as wall decor. Just tryig to justify showing off my apartment... craftily!

Heya. I'm a n00b. (I've always wanted to say that. whee)

But, I wanted to start off asking if anyone had suggestions for me.
I recently came into the possesion of three mac mice. You know, the old-ish circular ones.
They don't have the scroll-balls, but other than that, they are in good condition.
I just think they look neat, but I have no clue what to do with them.

Any ideas?

Does anyone know how you go about making fishnets?

And if it's not by crocheting, does anyone *also* know a way to make fishnet via crochet?

Err...basically, I'm looking for the "right" way to make fishnet, and also a way to do it by crocheting. *grin*

So here's my story.

I'm Lola, I've been on birth control since I was 13. (Hi Lola!)

I have. Dozens. Of ortho-tricyclen "sample paks."

They look like such untapped potential I'm afraid to throw them out, but I can't figure out what in the hell to do with them. So the question goes to you, my trusty craftgrrls: Seriously, what to do with them?

My fate is in your collective hands. Thank you!

Question...

My DH and I are in some serious financial trouble, and knitting has really helped take the edge off of the tension. I would like to get more supplies as I am still learning but I can't afford to.

I have some gently used Milky Way soap molds (a big bunch of really cute Christmas ones and the Hanukkah guest soap mold) that I'd like to trade (or sell, if you don't have anything mutually beneficial, for a nice discount). I have like 10 of them and I will e-mail you a full list with links to photos if you are interested. I also have green, red, and blue glitter, and silver sparkle mica to use with the molds if you want.

Basically, I'm looking for knitting supplies and yarn, especially...

-double pointed needles, maybe some circulars, or straight wood/bamboo ones...even more aluminum needles would be fine (I only have 5s, 8s, 9s, and 10 1/2s).
-yarn needles
-cotton or very soft wool blend yarns (nothing too scratchy). Acrylic would be OK as long as it is very soft. Fuzzy eyelash-type yarn would be cool too.
-organic would be a PLUS
-even those odd balls of yarn would be cheerfully accepted (please include washing instructions and content if possible, or at least the brand and type), at least enough to make a hat please...
-colors I like: hot pink, bright orange, anything oceany, fun variegated yarns, and natural creams/browns.

I hope this doesn't violate anything. Thanks so much.

some rules.

i hate to do this but there is something i have to clear up about some of the [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl rules.

for some odd reason people keep making posts about things they have for sale.

not only did i make specific rules that there is to be NO SELLING of goods on [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl but the LJ terms of service state specifically that you cannot sell/make a profit in the expense of livejournal. if you would like to read these rules they are clearly stated in the user info for [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl [which you should have read completely before you joined anyways].

i know most of you know this and have been awesome about not doing it and/or catching people when they do it.

but i'm stating right now, for the record, that any post in the future that advertizes stuff for sale, i'm going to delete it. i'm tired of notifying people/emailing people to let them know they need to get rid of their post just to get bitched at or flamed for it. if you email me first and explain your situation, maybe we could work something out.

so, i'm sorry but, in the future, any post having to do with selling with automatically be deleted.

this may not be be proper for looking at in front of family or at work.

my big project is finished! )
[identity profile] littlehppyheart.livejournal.com
sorry, cross-posted

Can anyone give me a hint on how to go about making a halter corset-like top. If that's unclear, I'll try to explain it. Think of a corset, lace up in the back. Put a halter on it. It doesnt have to be fancy, with boning or anything.

Basically I'm asking, do I just wrap newspaper around myself and cut randomly with scrap fabric until I get it right? That seems a bit haphazard...and this IS my friggin prom dress...

BTW, the bottom is a two-layer circle skirt, not finished yet...

Hi
I have been a member for a while and I was wondering
I am having a "girl's night out" type of activity and being the crafty person I am, I thought it would be neat to make soap and other stuff to give to the other girls :)
Well, I wanted to make my own very specific soap molds, could I use super sculpty, I just will do the heat and pour method.

Thanks,
Jennifer Lynn

I have a bunch of videos of tv shows I like. I decided to start up an episode guide book for myself, so I can find the shows I want (for once). Course, I had to decorate the binder I'm putting it all in. and what better than duct tape! first I printed/cut magazine pictures of the shows I have and podgey-ed then to the front, then added a duct tape border. then I did a similar thing on the back, but with less pictures and more duct tape. and stuck the lettering at the craft store on the side. and ta-da! my video tv collection binder. I think it looks good. course, it looks a lot better than it does in the picture. now I want to make more, but I have nothing else to put in binders.
