mimette
mimette doesn't have very much to say,
but she does have an (invisible) flower for everyone she meets.
and a strange concern regarding boxes.

[ingredients: sculpey, ribbon (lots of ribbon,) paint, lace, hair, wire etc etc...]

i know mimes aren't particularly to everyone's taste, but i've always found them to be terribly beautiful in an odd sort of way. and i quite assure you that she's a very sweet sort who has nothing in common with clowns and will not, in fact, eat you in your sleep. she only wants to give you (invisible) flowers.

Okay. So, I made pillow case. Or something that resebels a pillow case at least. This is the first time I've ever sewed on my own so bare with me. As you can see, I made it a little bit

P.S. My sewing machine sucks. Really.

So, right now I'm working on an idea for a drawing/ mixed media picture/ sign kinda thing. A phrase with am image. This will all be done by hand, I have limited access/ skill in photoshop or any other computer touch up program. I'm working on concept sketches for the image part (a coffee mug) and the phrasing, mix of calligraphy and other stylish writing, but I'm getting skittish when I think about actually putting it all together since, atleast the lettering has to be perfect on the final. I know I don't have too much to loose but materials (finite ink supply in my callighphy markers) and paper, but I fear giving up for things not turning out how I like, even though this is an idea I really want to complete.

Anybody else get these jitters? Any examples of finished works that have come through despite these fears? I know this is not exactly crafty in the tradional sense, but more on those elements may come in the final version.

Meep.

There is no muse like a little excitement and anticipation. My new horse is coming to me tomorrow. Of course I have now succesfully spent every last dime on this big fuzzy. Then I spent $60 more dollars at the tack store and would like to buy her a new bridle and girth. Anywaaaays, I realized I didn't get a brush tote so I made one out of scraps I had. I am supppper pleased.
