I always enjoy making puppets. Perhaps it's the kid in me who never grew up. I secretly wanted to get lost on Sesame Street and stay there. In fact, my mom used to wake me up as a child with a Kermit puppet so I imagine that's why I'm drawn to making toys that have a bit more life in them.

The more puppets I make for Starwars.com, the more I realize that at some point I need to put on a puppet show. Maybe like Punch & Princess Leia? Perhaps if I can get enough of you to make Star Wars puppets, we can do a flash mob puppet show at Comic-Con? Who's in?

Either way, I hope you crafty kids, Star Wars fans and amateur puppeteers out there have fun with my latest craft!

I've tried Google, and I'm still not quite sure how hem tape works. I want to use it to attach a zipper to a bag I've just crocheted. As far as I can tell, I put the tape on the zipper and cloth for the zipper, and then I iron the hem tape. Is that right, or do I need to still sew everything as well? Or do I (quite possibly) have the wrong type of sewing tape?

In case it wasn't absolutely obvious, I do not generally sew.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I told my roommates I would make them aprons when we were just talking about moving in together. Seeing as i never got around to it this summer, since I had a job and an internship, I decided to make them as Christmas presents (late presents since all my fabric was at home and i couldn't do it at school). Anyway, I am really happy with how both turned out. Although I wish i made the heart a little narrower on the first one. I tucked the sides under for one picture so you can see how it would look if I did it all over again. I didn't use any patterns... just kinda figured it out on my own...

check out all the apron-y goodness )

I've been making a lot of journals lately! Here are a few of my most recent designs:

As promised, I'm still working on the Narwhal journal. I love the fabric I've picked out for it, I promise to show you guys as soon as I have pictures.

Thanks for looking!
