I'd really like to make a snow globe but I would like it to be square shaped and clear almost all around. What do you think I could use to make this happen? I was thinking of going to the local home depot and asking them to make me a box out of plexi glass, then I would glue the top on. How can I make sure it would seal properly? I've never done anything like this before and I'm at a complete loss. Help me, craftgrrls!

I would like to make my boy a 52 Reasons I Love You book out of playing cards and am looking for tips on attaching to the cards themselves. Did you use glue? Mod Podge etc?

Also, pics of your own would be awesome! I love inspiration :) Thanks!

i am a huuuuge star wars fans... if you see my blog you will understand!!! hahaha
i was about to drown myself into the costumes i need to finish for New York Comic Con this coming weekend but i just had this crazy idea.... and i couldn't stop thinking about it!!!

i barely slept thursday night... and ended up spending my whole day off (friday) working on my idea!!!

and here it is

for you non star wars fans lol this is a stormtrooper face that i sewed on a zip up shirt (didn't make the shirt though. payed 9 bucks at walmart)
after i was done i did realized it would have been a LOT easier to just paint the thing on the shirt! lol but it wouldnt have the same effect!!! and i like sewing so...  it was fun!!

oh and time consuming too!!! i didn't want any raw edges on the pieces i was going to sew, so i ironed in every one of them.

but i am very happy with the results. and now... i'm planning on doing one with R2D2 and one with Darth Vader!!!!

Hi crafters,

I mostly lurk here for inspiration and awe, but I just recently stumbled upon a nice wooden box that I think would be great for making a shadow box, something i have always wanted to do. I think I want mine to have the theme "death" ('tis the season and I like the macbre). I was wondering if anyone would be interested in sharing pics or links with me of their own shadow boxes, mostly for inspiration, but also because I want to see how you used your space as well as just checking out ideas, colors, texture, and depth. many thanks in advance and happy crafting!

A couple of months ago, I decided to start making my own jewelry displays out of card stock. I was getting ready for my first show, and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on displays since I didn't know if it would be successful or not.

I couldn't find a design for an earring display that I liked, so I decided to design my own:

I posted pictures and vowed to post a tutorial if it held up. Unfortunately, it didn't do so hot at the show. The humidity caused it to droop down. However, I really love these for photography, and they'd probably be good for indoor shows. Hence, I am keeping my vow. I'd love any suggestions for making it sturdier, though.

I know, everyone and their great aunt Josie has done a deck of cards about something for someone but this is MY personal spin on it.

I found the perfect colour of green yarn, and so, I have my Halloween costume. I made a brain slug! LET ME SHOW YOU! )

All in all I'm pretty satisfied with it, and it will serve perfectly well for a work-place costume. (x-posted a few places, sorry for any repeats!)
