i'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but i've caught the 'deer craze' that seems to be going around..i've been buying cute vintage deer figurines to use as props and in photography, but after awhile i thought, why am i buying these? i can probably make my own! so i gave it a try:

very happy with how it turned out! i've posted this one and a couple others on art sites i frequent, and they're a big hit! ;u;
i make them entirely by hand (including the little cabachons for their bows) out of original scupley, then paint them. i recently started making scented charms, and as silly as it might be, i couldn't resist making the deers scented, too (it is TOO much fun lol) this one smells like strawberry milk! <3

i've been making all kinds of cute little scented charms, yarn dreadfalls, and now i'm working on a little sculpture of one of my characters. gah x_x

I'm wondering what kind of paper people normally use to make gift boxes and gift bags (not kraft sack though)? I'm looking for something sturdier, similar to posterboard, or maybe even bristol...? But not thick enough so that it becomes difficult to fold...

Thanks in advance if you can help me figure this out! :) If you guys have any tips for making sharp, crisp folds, that would come in handy too. :)

Hi everyone!

I'm in the process of making some slippers using felted recycled sweaters and this tutorial: http://www.ikatbag.com/2008/12/dress-up-box-tippytoes.html

I tried using suede on the bottom but my sewing machine doesn't seem to be able to sew through suede at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can use or add to the bottom of the slippers to make them more grippy?

Thanks!

Also, tags never seem to work for me.
