alright, someone on here has to know what i am talking about!

i want to make a plush doll with a resin/clay face. the body will be a soft body filled with polyfil.

but i can not seem to find anything on how to sew it together. and my attempt have failed and become garbage land dolls. (aka i tossed because i was so angry at them)

so anyone out there know how to do this? or can send me in the way of a tutorial on how to do this?

kinda frustrated that my normal Google Fu has failed me.

Embroidery Question

Hello!

I'm looking for a little crafting guidance.

I would like to monogram cloth napkins for some friends who are getting married (to go with the picnic basket I'm giving them). I have a sewing machine with an embroidery setting.

I guess I have two questions:

1) The cloth I would like to monogram is navy blue. Can anyone suggest a good way to transfer the monogram outline onto the fabric that would show up against the dark(ish) fabric?

2) Can anyone suggest a good font? I'm looking for something basic (read: easy to embroider) and on the casual side (It's going in a picnic basket, but might get used for other occasions).

I never knew hunting for gemstone beads would be so difficult! I'm in desperate need for 10 different 8-10mm round beads for an anniversary project my dad has given me, and I don't know where else to turn. Everywhere I look online (firemountaingems.com) has been too expensive or (artbeads.com) there are way too many (because they come in strands and not single) or (dollarbead.com) they simply don't carry them.

Does anyone know where I can get a single gemstone bead of 10 different variety for not a ton of money?

And because I'm desperate, I'm going to list the beads I need:
Turquoise Tanzanite Yellow Topaz Pearl Amethyst Aquamarine Peridot Carnelian Opal Jade

Can anyone help me out?

ETA: I found a local shop's listing online, so I'll be calling them in the morning to see if they have what I need. Thank you all for your suggestions. If this place (La Bead, Oh) doesn't have them, I may still be taking your advice!


I found a local bead shop and was able to get pretty much everything I needed there. Anything I could not find in the actual gemstone, I found something that was similar enough. When it's a complete work, I'll post pictures:-) Thank you all for being so willing to help!
