I've been wanting to add a design to a couple of travel mugs [I'm not ordering enough of them to make it worth going through a company like cafepress] I've been thinking about just using acrylic paint with mod podge over it [or something similar, as all of the cups I've looked at have said "hand wash only" but I've worried about when we put either hot or cold liquids, if it's going to affect the paint. Most of the ones I've seen said not to put them in the microwave, so that's not a worry, but I'm still curious about what would be a good idea. I've thought about a regular travel mug, with a metal outer coating, then if it worked well, the plastic ones with the really thick straws.
