This was an "I HAVE TO MAKE THAT" project when I saw the pattern, so I availed of my genetics-major brothers birthday to finally make it.  Really happy with how it turned out! (It's also the first big project I've finished in ages! My thesis and studying for finals have been taking all my knitting time in the last few months. :( )

So my new years resolution was to post more to this community. It looks like it's not working out. :/ Anyway, here are some of my recent crafty things. Hopefully I'll be back soon with more stuff.

Oh, I need advice. I've been playing around with alcohol inks. It's a fun experience and you'll never know the outcome until the end. So far I have two wood pendants that I stamped and inked. I'm trying to figure out how to seal the color so they won't bleed or fade. I'm thinking regular wood varnish that you would use on any household wood piece with but I'm also not sure what to use. I obviously don't want it to wear off, yellow, or distort any aspect of my pieces. Does anyone have suggestions? And is there a such thing as a spray varnish? Is that worth my time?

Brooch Bouquet

I am getting married later this year and fell in love with the idea of brooch bouquets. So I decided to make my own! I am making a few practice ones before i decide exactly what I want for mine. So here is my first ever brooch bouquet :-)

Hey there crafty ladies!
So recently I was watching some Pretty Little Liars(don't judge me), and I saw this amazing door knocker necklace pictured on the left. But I could not find it ANYWHERE. I searched everywhere online. So I thought, screw that, I'll make it my damn self. So the right or bottom pic (don't know how this is gonna show up for everyone) was made out of a plain silver lionhead that I drilled holes into the mouth, painted different colors of brown and bronze to make it vintage looking, and then shoved some wire in the mouth for the ring and attached the chain with beads and all that. Thought it came out pretty good considering I had no idea how I was going to do this.
