wooden cigar box purse
Aug. 7th, 2002 04:30 pmagain, sorry for the horrible picture quality.
i got this idea from a website selling them for 60 dollars a pop and got the box from my Pop. i mog-podged the first layer of paper (cheetah print $.49 @jo-anns) then the second smaller square of red paper (lying around the house, free!). then came a colored photocopy of a vintage pattern (i bought this one at a estate sale for $.50, you can buy vintage patterns from jo-anns by vogue). after i coated everything with a good layer of mod-podge (and everything dried), i glued on a strand of blue and a strand of red sequins (again, lying around the house). i bought the red plastic handle at a trim store in NYC, and my father made the hardware to attach it.
all in all, this project cost me about $12. not to shabby.
