So heres the project I was working on for awhile. I've just got around to posting it. Anyways, I made it for my boyfriend when he got back from deployment. I wanted to give it to him earlier, but since it took me awhile to get started on and finish, I've decided it would be better and more sentimental if I gave it as a Christmas/Anniversary gift.

I bought a plain heart shaped box from Michaels. I bought some acryllic paints and gold tissue paper. I didnt have any modge podge, so I just used elmers glue and took little sections of gold tissue paper and glued them on piece by piece until it eventually covered most of the box. After that I painted over it and gave it a nice little detail with some gold acryllic paint so it didnt look so plain, and to also cover little parts that I may have missed with the tissue. The inside of the box wasnt all that important to finish with tissue, so I just painted inside too. After the tissue and gold paint dried, I used red acryllic paint to draw on some hearts. The paint didnt work all that well so I used red nail polish and it came out more vibrant lol.

This is the inside of the lid. I used thin cardboard pieces and modge podge'd the pieces with gold tissue once again. After that dried I painted on the words "The Many Reasons Why I love you!" on the separate cardboard pieces. I used this craft sticky glue kind of stuff and cut little square pieces of cardboard together so I could put them on the back of the words to make them pop up.

For the last stage I typed up and printed all the reasons why I loved my boyfriend so dearly in a pretty red font :) Since it was on regular old boring computer paper, I used the gold paint and made swift little marks on the paper to make it look somewhat better.
