Can't find my end...

I've never worked with eyelash yarn before, and, um...I'm excited, but it's really hairy and...uh...I can't figure out how to find the end so it pulls out of the middle like a regular skein. Or will it do that?

I guess my actual question is: Hey, you smart people who've used this stuff before...did you grab the outside end and unroll it all and hope for the best? Did you reroll it into a ball? Or is there some magical way to dig out the inside end without pulling all the skein guts out?
