Jan. 5th, 2004 03:34 pmi've found this pattern in a box of my grandmother's sewing notions. it was issued in the 1940's to the best of my knowledge. from the illustrations it is not obvious, but the back reads, "maternity wrap-around house dress". the instructions suggest for fabric options: silk, rayon crepe, taffeta (heehee! shiny pregnant princess!), spun rayon, faille, seersucker, chambray, cotton broadcloth (hey, who you callin' a broad?), pique, chintz, percale, shantung. the original cover is in color, but i didn't want to influence anyone. my one and only reason for posting this here is to ask all of you wonderful ladies and gents for some fabric suggestions. color? design? material? anything you give me will be taken into consideration. wait, i had two reasons for posting. the second reason is just to warm you guys up for when i post the finished dress! fire!
