Hip to Crochet?
Jan. 11th, 2004 03:02 amI just taught myself to crochet a day ago- so far have just been working on one looooong chain, haven't even started working into a chain, yet.
Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but someone posted about this book, Bitch'n Stitch; I went to check it out, and the patterns are AWESOME! I especially love the wristwarmers that say "geek" and the backpack with the monkey in it. I've looked in 4 different stores- including Joann's- and have yet to find any "hip" crochet books! Is there a way to adapt knitting patterns, or will I have to setlle for fuddy duddy afghans and sweaters and/or messing up by making my own patterns? I know I will learn more after I cover the basics, but is there away to sew patterns (as in, words, pictures, etc.) into crochetwork the way you can with knitting?
Thanks!
