For all you marble magnet fiends, I was at Michaels today, buying supplies for my first ever batch of marble magnets, and the marbles were on sale. They're usually $2.19 or so per bag, but they were on sale for 4 bags for $3!!! I have enough to last quite a while. Be forewarned, everything is on sale. You will not get out of there unscathed.

I was kind of bummed, though, because they only sell 3/4" magnets, not 1/2" or smaller. I called my local Joann's, and they don't have anything smaller than 3/4" either. Are you all buying the 1/2" or smaller magnets at Michaels, and my local store just sucks? I'd be especially interested if anyone in NW Washington state has a supply for the smaller magnets. I'd hate to have to order them online and pay shipping for just one item, but they just don't look as nice with the magnet showing around the edges. I went ahead and got them anyway, and these ones will be fine for my family's use, but I'd like to make some to give away.

Oh, and thanks to the brilliant member who discovered the "household glue" aka caulking for this project. It works like a charm, and no toxic chemical fumes. That's especially nice since I'm doing this with kiddos in the room.
