Long time no post
Jan. 30th, 2004 11:54 pmI took some photos of my latest creations:
a , a and some
This is a Tablut game I made for a friend. Tablut or Tafl is a Viking form of chess.
This is a picture of the process. I am glueing on some card work squares on a wooden frame I got in an art supply shop.
The playing area will be covered with papermaché later.
This is the finished piece.
Because Nils is a fan of Vikings I wanted the game to look a little bit "ancient". So I covered the edge with real fur I found at a flea market.
I also made the little figurines out of air drying clay. He can store them in a brown velvet pouch.
And I am making this for me. It is not finished yet.

Maybe it will be a frame or I will leave it as a pretty thing for itself. Maybe I will put a flower on the right side of it or I leave it plain. We will see.
I won't paint it too colorful, maybe just white with a little bit of gold, you know like crinkle lacquer.
The frame is made out of an cardboard box from the supermarket and the fairy's carcass is made with wire and aluminium foil.
And again I used papermaché to cover it, I am in love with this stuff.

Obviously a dragon. Components: Wire, aluminium foil and papermaché.
I am not very pleased with the coloring :/
