craftgrrl | does ANYONE emboss with embossing markers? (Reply)

I have the Marvy heat tool and Pearl Lustre embossing powder in black & blue (the only colors they had when I was there post christmas). I also have these markers. When I use the markers it seems like the ink dries before I can get the powder onto it, then only half the powder sticks. Or, I get some powder on the paper where I don't want it which creates permenant flecks of powder after I heat it. Gah! All I want are some hearts on my Valentines! I don't really want to invest in stamps at this point, that's why I got the markers. I figured I could just draw what I want.

Am I using crappy markers? Is it crappy powder? I am using blank cards, btw. Is that the problem? WTF! I want to emboss dammit!
