So I've been learning to knit, and I saw in SNB a pattern to sew a needle holder. Impatiently, I had to make one right away, rather than taking the time to go shopping for fabric, so I made this one out of magazine pages, much like the super cool wallets I've been seeing on here. Hope you like it, It's a little ghetto, but what the hell.

MATERIALS
3 full magazine pages
Packing tape
Yarn
Scissors

DIRECTIONS
1. get 3 pages (undo the staples, and get double size pages) of your favorite magazine (in these pictures, MAD).

2. Tape 2 of them together, long edge overlapping long edge so it is the right height for your longest needles. Leave about 4 inches extra to fold over the needles. In other words, make it a good 4 inches longer than it needs to be.

3. Laminate using packing tape (or a laminator if you have one!).
(* see the bottom for more info on this)

4. Laminate the left over page in the same way.

5. Take the big laminated sheet, put it down with the side you want to be the outside of your case facing down (inside up), and lay the smaller sheet on top, lining the 2 pages up at the bottom. Tape all the way around the sides and bottom to create a sort of gigantic envelope.

6. Create mini pockets for each set of needles by putting a piece of packing tape, cut lengthwise, from the front envelope flap to the back larger sheet.

7. Tie it up with an old scrap of yarn (I'm sure there's much better ways to do this, but the yarn works well), after you have folded the extra four inches over the tops of your needles.

The needles should be in there, burrito style. The flap is a little hard to fold over at first, but if you leave it tied up like this for a few days, it softens up.

*LAMINATING*
I just laid out the pages and covered with strip after strip of packing tape. Then I cut the excess off around the edges. Do both sides.
