Hey, yeah I lurk and post comments and...hooray...I finally joined.
Question: If I want to sew patches (the iron-on type) onto a canvas tote bag, would you recommend me not using my sewing machine? It was pretty pricey and I don't want to mess it up. Also if I can use a sewing machine, what type of foot should I use, and should I just use straight-stich or what?
Sorry for the excessive inquisitiveness, but I've never sewn with patches before.
Yessm. Ok. Another question. What would you recommend as a sealer that I could use on a table? I am decoupaging the top of it and I have no clue what to use. I want it to be waterproof (this is a bedside table so I will probably have glasses of water/flowers on it) but also fire-proof (non-flammable), because I have a clip-on lamp that will shine directly on it which could be a fire-hazard.
Thanks in advance for the help, I just want to say that this community is one of the best for crafters, everyone is so active and there are always new posts. The archive is especially inspiring!
