easy punch...to the face.

i just bought an Easy Punch Embroidery Machine from a thrift store...it lookes like a big blue toy tattoo gun, and supposedly it will embroider. it came with some accessories, but no instruction booklet. i know how to thread it and it all seems to be in working order, but i can't seem to get the thread to latch onto fabric and do it's thing.

so i was wondering if anyone here has one such machine, or if anyone's mommie has one (since they're from the 80s). any help is mucho appreciated.
