Recycled Yarn
Apr. 19th, 2004 09:28 amUnraveling sweaters and using the recycled yarn in your projects is perfect for the knitter on a budget. You can buy a chinelle sweater for $1.99 at a Thrift Store, and get over a thousand yards out of it. But a skein of chinelle at your LYS can cost over $6. Sweaters are on sale right now, and I am taking advantage of the warm weather to increase my stash for a fraction of the price!
I've had several requests from people asking for directions on how to unravel sweaters to recycle the yarn. For your enjoyment, please click here to view a photo tutorial I wrote on how to unravel a sweater.
PS: I love making friends, feel free to add me!
