Making kites
May. 2nd, 2004 12:49 amJust thought I'd post these two quick pictures before I go back to burning myself with hot glue.
The gryphon kite:

The concept sketch done while boiling mac n' cheese:

I'm making them out of a basic cotton fabric, hot gluing the wooden dowels in for bones, then I'll be painting them with Gesso, acrylics, and finally a layer of Mod Podge to seal it all in. They'll have nylon line keels, and shiny ribbon tails. I have no idea if they'll actually fly or not (that's the idea), but if they don't end up flying, at least they'll be nifty decorations.
The gryphon is going to be purple, and the dragon is going to be blue.
I'll have more shots as this project pans out.
