[identity profile] ifmelfalls.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
Hi. I wanted to make a couple of these for end of the year gifts for teachers at my school (stick some flowers in them). But when I've tried to make them in the past, after sitting on the shelf for awhile, the paint on the inside starts to chip away and frankly it just looks awful. What am I doing wrong? What paint should I be using?

In the past, I've used that 99 cent Joann's paint. Then upgraded to some better stuff when I've had that problem, but it didn't help. Can I get specific type, brand, anything. The more specific the better, since I'm paint dumb. If they carry it at Joann's, that'd be best (I can use my gift card). Or if it's somewhere online, I don't mind ordering it. I don't want to spend a lot though.
OK also, I can delete this part of the post if you want, but I've searched high and low on the FAQ, other appropriate livejournals, done multiple searches, and I've come up empty handed.
Do you guys have any other ideas what to get two English teachers, and school(male) counselor? I got one of the English teacher marble magnents and magnetic poetry already. I could do that for other that didn't recieve it, but I'd like some more original ideas.
Again, I can delete this if need be. Thank you and sorry for the extensive post!
