Jun. 8th, 2004 11:48 amThis skirt was a pair of brown pants that fit everywhere except the butt, which I somehow could not fill out, so they were kind of puffy back there. But I liked them a lot, so I made a skirt. I put the khaki panel in, but it needed something else, so I decided to pay tribute to my native Austin and stick a bat on it.

I cut the bat out of scraps from the pants and appliqued it on with the zig-zag stitch on my sewing machine. His face is embroidery floss and his eyes are buttons. I'm pretty proud of this one, especially after I saw two old ladies in a minivan talking and pointing as I walked by them.
