another question for all of you out there:

i bought my sewing machine today; even though i didn't get any help about what to get i think i found a good one for my needs. now of course my little crafty mind starts to whir and i begin looking up fabrics.

okay, i lied, two questions:
1: does anyone know where to purchase pearl buttons/snaps, a la western cowboy shirts? (i love these things) in addition can anyone suggest a good place to look online for findings/buttons, perhaps somewhat retro-looking ones? i haven't dared to look at ebay yet...

2: i love some of the geometric patterns that are mixed in in traditional japanese fabric, such as this or this. (note: what i'm referring to isn't the actual print but the pattern/print inside the example, such as in the fans of the second picture). but i haven't really been able to find fabric like this, though perhaps i'm looking in the wrong places. has anyone seen any fabric like this?
