[identity profile] rar-trisaratops.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
I haven't posted in here in awhile!
How are all you ladies?

Anyway, since my last post, I've taken up knitting.
And rather passionately.
I've never found a craft that is so relaxing, versatile, and complex at the same time.
I love it!

Here are lots of things I've made, which can also be found at my crafty journal, [livejournal.com profile] pro_duk_tiv.

The first is a really long (I wanted it longer, but I began to go insane looking at the same thing over and over again.) multicolored scarf, knit with size 13 needles in an entire purl stitch.
I don't know where the yarn package is, but I got it at JoAnn's, and I LOVE the way the colors arranged themselves.

The next is a little diddy I whipped up for the boyfriend's iPod (he's very protective of his electronics, if you can't tell). It's made from Lion Brand chunky yarn with the same needles.

It started out as just a simple pocket (a long rectangle folded over and sewn up the sides), but I decided to sew up a couple stitches on each side along the top to keep the iPod from slipping out, while still leaving room for his iTrip.

These three pictures are of my knitting needles I made and painted myself.
The needles are made of dowel rods and the ends are made of Sculpey.

This is a scarf I made for my friend, Holly. We have a shared appreciation for pink+green.
It reminds me (us) of watermelons.
Believe it or not, but this only took me a few hours.
I started it yesterday and finished it today.
That's a new record for me!

Anyway, I made it by knitting two different yarns together.
One was a light green sport weight baby yarn.
And the other was this fuzzy pink-->white fuzzy yarn my mom got me for my birthday.

A roll-up case to organize my needles.
I haven't gotten ribbon to tie it up with yet, so for now, I'm using a hairband.

And a huge tote to carry my Stitch N Bitch, my needles, and my current projects in.

I really am obsessed with pink+green.

Hope you enjoyed!
