printing lino cuts on fabric
Jul. 22nd, 2004 06:23 pmI am interested in printing some text on some fabric. Screenprinting is great, and I have done it in the past, but I am looking for something a bit more portable, simpler, and easier for me to do alone (remember, I have a disability that makes it difficult for me to lift things, and I am always sitting down.). Iron on transfers are a no go, because I don't like how easily the crack/fade.
What I am considering is making a lino print to use as a sort of stamp. I will cut the linoleum with the design I wish, and then coat said design in either screen printing ink, or acrylic paint mixed with textile medium. I have only done a lino cut once before, and have only printed on paper. I was curious to see if anyone had made a lino cut stamp, and then printed on fabric instead.
Does this work?
Any tips before I start purchasing things/ getting my hopes up?
