[identity profile] awakeningflame.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
I finally got myself a digital camera (well, got one for my b-day since I can't afford a decent one for myself), so hopefully I'll be able to share some of the stuff I make on here more often.

I (like quite a few other craftgrrls, I suspect) have a bunch of these POM Wonderful bottles lying around since they're such a cool shape that they're begging to be made something nice. So, I started with one of these:

I decided to go with one of my small bottles since I wasn't too sure of what I was going to do. I decided to decorate it for a vase for my dorm room.. not too creative, but I thought it came out alright.
The finished product:

I was worried that the paint (the pom wonderful logo and whatnot) would show through, so I removed that. It proved to be a rather daunting task; the red paint was removed easily with nailpolish remover, but the white paint wouldn't budge for some odd reason. It kind of came off with a large metal file, but I'm impatient so I broke out the electic sander.

The rest of it was easy peasy. I was going for a textured look, so I slopped some tissue paper on with some Mod Podge. Pretty simple, all in all.

I apologize if the pictures are too large, I'm running a high resolution on this moniter. Someone can bop me on the head with a rolled up newspaper if they need to be resized (or just leave a comment and I'll get to it ASAP).
