New bag complete success!!!
Aug. 17th, 2004 02:15 pmWell, after many, many days of not making anything, because I was just look around at other bags and trying to figure out how to make it nicer, and after FINALLY understanding the Jordy Bag tutorial, I made another bag. The pattern is completely my own (but pretty unoriginal) and the neatness was thanks to the tutorial. Pictures under the cut. I'd really like comments on this one because once I DO make enough of these, I do plan on selling this one because I think it's good enough for that.

I cut out the heart myself and sewed that on. Originally, I had cut the red heart from an I <3 NY t-shirt, but I had white thread and the sewing job just looked horrible. So I kept ripping it out and sewing it again, finally I just gave up and decided to use the white, which I think actually looks really nice.
The fabric was wicked cheap from JoAnns and I love it. It kind of reminds me of a Louis Vutton (sp?) bag, because of the checkered-ness but it's not exactly just checkered. The only thing I don't like about this bag is the handle, because it's too thin. My next one will be MUCH sturdier.

The lining is just from a free white t-shirt I had. The bag closes with velcro, also white (which looks really good considering that it blends in), that I was using to make magazine wallets (which come out nice, but are even more time consuming than making bags!!).
The size is roughly 9x6in and 2in thick.
Sooooo whatcha think?
