This is my first post here, I hope I don't break any rules. I made something out of an old stencil.



I know now to use thinner stencils, but this was my first time so I used a thick cardstock. The shirts I made for my boyfriend's band didn't come out exactly as I hoped, but they were OK. They look like this:



While I was stenciling, I noticed how cool the paint covered stencil looked. So when I finished I took the stencil (which was designed by the drummer), which was covered in silver spraypaint and yellow and black acrylic and put red acetate paper behind it. I got a cardboard box and spraypainted it silver and covered it in clear packing tape. I rigged a small lighting source in it and affixed the stencil to the front with more tape. I gave it to the drummer for his birthday. Here's what it looks like in the light:

Ooh creepy! hehe. I also made a little trap door on the side so he can change the bulb. He seemed to really like it because I took something he designed and made something out of it for him to keep. :)
