[identity profile] hkpunkette84.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
I checked the memories section but couldn't find anything related to this so I thought I would post and ask =]
For my halloween costume i'm doing a horror-yet-cutesy version of Alice in Wonderland. The pattern is actually a Chi from Chobits cosplay costume (blue puff sleeve dress, heart shaped ruffly apron) but anyway, what I wanted to know was does anyone have any ideas what I could use as fake blood that would wash out? I don't want to ruin/stain the dress unless I really have to cos I might reuse or sell it. The only really feasible idea i've had so far is ketchup but does anyone know of anything better? I did consider Ribena but I think that would stain.. A friend of mine said to spray it with scotchguard first and that would minimise staining whatever I used.
I'll also be 'bloodying up' my fake knives and some knee high socks but i'm not too bothered about them being stained permanently.. I'm thinking paint or that ready made fake blood but of course I am open to suggestions here too =] Also for my hands and arms.. What could I use for blood on those?

I guess I might end up using several different things for the blood here, but hopefully the overall effect will be good =]
