smelly soap

I got a tub of glycerin soap base today...I was expecting it to have a rather neutral scent so I could make unscented soap..but noooo, the stuff stinks. I really don't want to go out and buy a bottle of scent stuff because I doubt I'll use the whole thing (I only have 2 lbs of soap) and I'm sick of spending money...so is there any "around the house" sort of thing I can use to either neutralize the scent or cover it up with a nicer smell? Or am I stuck buying scents? Grr.
